New? Start HERE!

Hi! I'm Courtney, and I'm the author behind Sweet Turtle Soup. I'm excited that you found your way here. Leave a comment around somewhere, I'd love to hear from you!

This is the crew - myself, Chris (my husband), and Aria (my wild girl).
I wanted to put together a handy guide if you are a new reader, or even just want to explore the blog a little more. Basically a timeline of the blog to hit all the highlights and get one up to speed.

I started this blog back in March 2013. My first post was Aria's birth story, she is the star of the show after all so it is fitting.
I started a series named 'Sweet Sunday', which recently came to an end. It showcased the little moments I capture each week. The ones that didn't really fit in anywhere else, but were simply sweet. The #1 way to take a quick photo tour through our family is to click on the Sweet Sunday tab in the sidebar and scroll until your heart is content. I know, I do it all the time.

I enjoyed sharing how we were working our way through the baby days with baby gear favourites, how we got on with baby led weaning, sleep training, cloth diapering, and nursing.
I also started up a series named 'Historical-ness' because I love reading my favorite bloggers' back stories. The bits that took place before they shared their world via a blog. Mine has the whole story of Chris and me - how we met, to living in Colorado, to our wedding/honeymoon, to being pregnant with Aria. I recently wrapped up the entire series.

This video is pretty much the cutest thing I've ever shared.

I hosted my very first link up in October, a Countdown to Halloween link up. I planned out 31 days of fall fun for the whole family, and we had the best month. I also made some great blog friends in the process!

I posted about our annual Canadian Thanksgiving party, which is hands down our favorite get together to host. My mouth is watering just thinking about all the fabulous food.
I started joining in on Mommy & Me Mondays, and Five on Fridays.

I worked on The Thankful Project around Thanksgiving. Then all of a sudden Aria turned one and we threw her a Winter One-derland Birthday party. I co-hosted The Five Days of Christmas link up party. And, bam it was Christmas and we were off to visit family in Pennsylvania.

We had a walker on our hands early in 2014 and life hasn't been peaceful since! How lucky that we managed to get a little video of Aria's very first steps?

I resolved to take more videos in the New Year and link them up with It's the Little Things on most Wednesdays. I've loved how many of those little moments I've been able to preserve this way, best resolution I've ever made.

I also started a photo per...challenge. '12 in 2014' - one photograph per month of Aria, which I completed along with '12 in 2015'. In 2016 I'm joining up with a few other lovely bloggers for the Picture Perfect Project - a link up to share all of your photo per...challenges. I'll still be aiming to get one photograph of Aria per month, one where she is actually looking at the camera and maybe even smiling.
We celebrated Valentine's Day with one of my favorite hand print crafts to date! The blog turned one! We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with three days full of leprechaun shenanigans! I turned 28, and had the best birthday extravaganza ever - parts one, and two! We celebrated Easter with Aria's first egg hunt!

I began a series of guest posts, where each lovely guest blogger does a Q&A session with me. I only meant it to last a few days while we were on a little Disney vacation, but I had so much fun doing it that I've kept it going until the end of 2015.
Chris and I celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary and marked the occasion by getting annual passes to Disney World - check out all of our visits so far.

We made our way through a summer bucket list, threw a Summer Desserts & Drinks party, made a water blob, had excellent park dates with Aria, and co-hosted a Christmas in July gift exchange over the summer.

I celebrated 100 followers with my first giveaway!
We kicked off the fall with our second Countdown to Halloween link up party, and celebrated our 5th Annual Canadian Thanksgiving party too. Two of my favorite things during the whole year!

We watched my favorite Parade and enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving, followed closely by celebrating Aria's 2nd Birthday with a Stars & Moon themed party. Then the Christmas season zoomed by in a flash of Santa, Book Advents and Countdowns, Cookies, Mommy & Me Book Exchanges, Decorations, and the Big Day itself.

2015 started off slowly as we caught our breath after a wonderful holiday season.

We celebrated Valentine's Day and made tons of Valentine's cards, and St. Patrick's Day with our usual amount of over the top leprechaun shenanigans. The blog turned two. I turned 29 and had a perfect three day weekend celebrating - we went to parks, ate the traditional Mexican dinner, had cookie cake, and popped over to visit Disney Springs. Then we enjoyed Easter with a special call from the Bunny himself and some of the best potatoes I've ever had for dinner.

We decided to renew our Disney passes and celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary eating around the world at Epcot, and then spent Mother's Day at Magic Kingdom.

I worked on lots of Toddler Books plus Activities with Aria. And, we made and completed our Spring Bucket List.

We had so much fun with our Spring Bucket List that we went ahead and made a Summer Bucket List - our favorite was the family canoe trip!

I talked about how I preserve all of our family photos with Blurb, and co-hosted the annual Christmas in July gift exchange. Aria decided she was ready for both a big girl bed and potty training - she knocked both out of the park. And, I kicked off the Teaching Together Blog Hop with several blog friends - a link up all about preschool activities, homeschooling ideas, and play at home learning.

Before I knew it it was my favorite time of the year. And, time for another year of hosting Countdown to Halloween! We kicked it off with a bang this year with a little Disney camping trip at Fort Wilderness - we enjoyed Epcot's Food & Wine Festival as well as Autumn decorations at Magic Kingdom. Our most fun filled Halloween yet.

We celebrated another wonderful Canadian Thanksgiving with our friends.

I co-hosted all sorts of link-ups over the holidays: Secret Santa Mommy & Me Book Exchange, Visits with Santa, Holiday Home Tour, and Christmas Desserts & Tacky Sweaters.

Aria turned THREE! We celebrated with a simple party at home, and then went a little over the top on Aria's Disney Birthday Trip - a three day visit to Wilderness Lodge and many trips to Magic Kingdom.

We counted our way down to Christmas and then had ourselves a merry little Christmas day.

Now it's a brand new year, and I'm excited to share with you all the things I have in the works for 2016!

I've also done several 'Day in the Life' posts that are some of my favourite to go back and read, and they are a great example of our typical days - May '13, July '13, January '14, April '14, July '14, November '14, January '15, April '15, July '15, and November '15. Isn't it crazy how quickly things change in such a short period of time?
