Aria's 4th Birthday & Christmas Wish List!

Children's Christmas Wish List Ideas
1. Baby Doll Carrier - I received a hand me down carrier the other day from a friend. So, Aria tested it out with her stuffed kitty and thought it was the cat's meow. I had to break her little heart and tell her she couldn't actually have it. I'm thinking one just for her would be a hit!

2. Baby Stella Clothes - Aria's favorite part of playing with her baby dolls is changing their clothes. I didn't even realize Baby Stella had clothes until recently. These even look simple enough for her to do without help, fingers crossed.

3. Magformers - We have a knock off brand of magnet blocks. She loves to play with them but has a really hard time building things because they are heavy and collapse. I've seen little videos of kids building with Magformers with ease on Instagram. Replacing the heavy set with a happy set is high on the wish list.

4. Lincoln Logs - Last year when we went to Disney World for Aria's 3rd Birthday she discovered Lincoln Logs. They have a big table of them in the waiting area for Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge Resort. She loved them and every time we walked through the lobby she begged to go play with them. Mommy is dying to get her a big bucket of them. I remember playing with them on the floor in my uncle's house with a dozen cousins when we visited family in Ohio.

5. Books - One of the few things she specifically asked for this year - books! She could probably snuggle up and read books for over an hour if mom/dad didn't eventually get a dry throat from it. One of her current favorites is all things Pinkalicious, but I'm constantly updating her book wish list as well.

6. Play Dough Tools Set - We've been making our own play dough this year, and it is one of Aria's favorite things to play with. She can play for so long that I can't sit next to her any longer because my pregnancy back has had enough. She's also always asking for new kitchen tools to use with her play dough, so she would love a set of tools just for her play dough loving heart.

7 & 8. Kitchen Accessories - Aria's play kitchen has been a favorite from the start. So, she always likes to get a few new accessories for it and she asked for a whisk this year.

9. My Blazin' Dragon - Aria spotted this dragon in the Target holiday catalog and was instantly sold. It roasts pretend marshmallows, so what's not to love?

10. Bath Pipes - Aria loves bath time and she rarely gets out shy of an hour. Bath time toys are always appreciated. She loves her B Toys Fishing Boat, but has just as much fun dumping water from one cup into another cup. I think she'd enjoy dumping water into pipes as well.

38 Weeks (Baby #2)

hump day bump day, maternity picture, pregnancy

How far along - 38 weeks, due November 30th. It's baby month!! (Hopefully...) My OB just told me at my last appointment that his wife is due the same day as me. Maybe we will be labor buddies. She was actually pregnant when I was pregnant with Aria as well, but I was further along. I guess we are pregnancy buddies too.

Gender - A little gentleman.

Cravings - A ramen craving hit me the other day, randomly enough. I've made a mental note to add it to next week's menu. I use the term menu loosely, my goal right now is one meal per week. If a breakfast menu was the goal I'd be a winner though. My energy is depleted by 3 or so each day.

Aversions - Nothing.

Best moment - Not getting a progress check at my last appointment. My gosh I hate those. I was curious for the first one, but now I know that curiosity killed the cat. Lesson learned.

Looking forward to - The take home outfits that Aria picked out finally arriving. The first shipment got lost in the mail. I say outfits because Aria couldn't decide between two so we got both. She can pick the winner when the time comes, which I'm so excited about. We have all the essentials now, except the take home outfit. It is driving me nuts, because kind of an important thing to have ready to go. But, it should get here this week. After that this babe can make his arrival any day. Or, even that specific day would be fine with me.

Miss anything - Keeping up with Aria, definitely. It would be nice to be able to read books without my back hurting or sit on the floor to play a game.

Movement - Lots of squirming! And, back to his spot on the left side.

Other pregnancy symptoms - Being uncomfortable. Painful kicks. Not being able to take my pants off easily. Geesh. Some false labor here and there, ouch. Still with the heartburn, but at least it is much better with the papaya enzymes. Not being able to sit on the floor. <- yup, same exact complaints as last week

Aria's thoughts - She got really annoyed when a lady asked if she was getting a baby sister at Target the other day. She wouldn't even speak to the woman after that. It was the perfect blend of rudeness and hilarity. She just turned and walked away, and then complained to me that he is NOT a sister. I was so surprised by her reaction because usually she will talk your ear off if you mention the baby. But, I guess she draws the line at a baby sister.

37 Weeks (Baby #2)

baby bump, hump day bump day, pregnancy, maternity

How far along - 37 weeks, due November 30th. It's baby month!! (Hopefully...)

Gender - A little gentleman.

Cravings - Peppermint White Chocolate Mochas from a red cup!

Aversions - Nothing.

Best moment - Getting the final shot! The nurses all cheered when I came out of the exam room. Wasn't expecting that, haha. Aria doesn't think it is a good idea though. I told her I was all done with butt shots. She said, "Now you get them in the arm?". I said nope I'm all done with shots. She said, "Well, I think you need one every time". Thanks, kid.

Looking forward to - Not being pregnant anymore! <-- I feel like this will remain the same until the end.

Miss anything - Sleeping all night long. I don't think this will be remedied with the end of pregnancy though, but one the hopefully not too distant future this will come true.

Movement - I love when I can feel a little jab and can imagine it being a tiny foot. His butt pushing out is my favorite though. Although, he has switched sides to the right side lately. He has been well settled on the left side for weeks, so I guess he needed a change of scenery.

Other pregnancy symptoms - Being uncomfortable. Painful kicks. Not being able to take my pants off easily. Geesh. Some false labor here and there, ouch. Still with the heartburn, but at least it is much better with the papaya enzymes. Not being able to sit on the floor.

Although, I think I got a spurt of nesting energy. But, it may have stemmed more from necessity. Right now baby boy does not have a room, so no nursery. And, that would be the reason we are moving in the new year. Apparently having enough room is kind of useful. For the time being Aria is sharing her shelves with baby brother's stuff. So, I had to consolidate Aria's things and give her room a nice cleaning at the same time. Then we moved on to deep cleaning the living room in order to put up the Christmas tree! I have zero desire to do anything product today though, so perhaps the nesting energy ran out.

Aria's thoughts - Aria was talking about how she will give me a big snuggle when she comes to see me in the hospital, but she is going to give that baby brother a kiss right away too. I wish I could recall exactly what she said but something along the lines of she needed to give him a kiss and we couldn't stop her from doing it right away. I told her she definitely could do that.

36 Weeks (Baby #2)

hump day bump day, belly pictures, maternity pictures

How far along - 36 weeks, due November 30th. It's baby month!! (Hopefully...)

Gender - A little gentleman.

Cravings - Not really a craving but I cannot keep out of the leftover Halloween candy. Must get rid of it!

Aversions - Nothing.

Best moment - Not a precise moment, but being so far along. And, only having one shot left. I can't wait to meet this baby boy, but I'd love to not have another NICU baby. Although, I keep thinking about how weird it will be to have him in the hospital room with me.

Looking forward to - Not being pregnant anymore!

Miss anything - Being able to bend over. Even just bending over a bit to reach my laptop is uncomfortable. So, blogging in bed is even less likely to happen these days...which is where I normally do such things. Other things that require bending Aria a bath, picking things off the floor, putting the Halloween decorations back in their storage box, emptying the dishwasher, and taking clothes out of the top loading washer.

Movement - Tons of it. His favorite spot is with his butt pushing out of my stomach on the left side. That is where he is right now. And, head down!

Other pregnancy symptoms - I am happy to report that the papaya enzymes are little miracle workers for my heartburn. I can finally sleep again without waking up gagging or sleeping propped up at an incline. Occasionally it will flare up a bit but not at all near the level it was before. Now I'm just uncomfortable 90% of the time.

Aria's thoughts - Lots of talk about when mommy goes to the hospital to have the baby. She is ready with her job of coming to visit armed with coffee and sandwiches so she can eat lunch with me. I'm not sure why she picked sandwiches because she doesn't tend to like sandwiches unless you count grilled cheese.

We didn't want to leave out the pups from this Halloween's festivities. So, Aria and I made them a batch of pumpkin apple treats. They were a hit. Baxter and Lizzy loved eating them and Aria loved giving them. Win win.

The start of a long Halloween weekend. We hit up the Fall Fest at the church with the pumpkin patch we like to visit each year. Aria didn't care too much about the candy aspect, but she could not wait for the bounce houses. After she bounced up an appetite she had some cotton candy, a strawberry gelato, and a hot dog. Mixed in was a tiny bit of trunk or treating before we headed for home. But, basically anything with a bounce house and sign Aria up.

One of the local fire stations was hosting a trick or treat. I thought it would be fun to check out all the firetrucks. Aria was game after I told her there would be a bounce house. It was during the middle of the day, and not at all cool, so instead of the cloud hat Aria opted for a quick kitty costume. Aria started off in the bounce houses and then got a little candy at each of the fire trucks along with being able to hop up inside most of them. She also got to shoot the hose and was given a plastic firemen hat, which she loves...we've pretend put out fires for days now.

We started the day with a little Halloween doughnut date. Because what goes better with piles of Halloween candy than Halloween doughnuts?

We usually carve a pumpkin on Halloween but for some reason they had Halloween on Monday this year. Who schedules a holiday during the week? Especially when it doesn't involve a day off work?

So, instead we carved the day before Halloween. This is, however, the first year that Aria has wanted to help scoop out the insides of the pumpkin. I am pretty sure it was her favorite part. The smiles and goofy faces I caught on camera are priceless. She also picked out what we carved too. She didn't care at all the previous Halloweens. A true Aria pumpkin this year, although dad did do the actual carving and she dictated how the face looked while I drew it on for her. I talked her into helping me draw the nose but she is a perfectionist apparently and made me redo it.

Aria and I spent the morning watching Halloween shows, and the afternoon stuffing baggies with candy for trick or treaters.

Then the big finale finally arrived. Aria was jazzed. She got in her cloud costume, we took a picture or two, and then we were off. People were extra generous with their candy handing out and her pumpkin pail weighed a ton after a handful of houses. She made it down one end of our street and one side street before she was over it.

When we got back home she enthusiastically handed out candy. I think she liked it better than trick or treating. Every time somebody came to the door she would dash to the foyer to get everybody a baggie of candy. She was even annoyed when she had to use the bathroom and missed a round of trick or treaters that came to the door - "you were suppose to wait for me! I wanted to do that!".

She had two pieces of candy and then crashed around 9 from all the excitement. Another Halloween, and October for that matter, for the books =)

I cannot believe that it is November already (and baby month, fingers crossed)! There are plenty of things on my 'to do' list that we never got around to, but I could sleep the rest of November from all the things we did do. I am officially ready to put Halloween behind us and move on to Thanksgiving, Birthdays, and Christmas...and having a baby somewhere in there. But first, one final link up for Countdown to Halloween this year. How was your Halloween? Please share below, anything big or small is welcome! Don't forget you can also join in on the fun on instagram with #cdtohalloween16 as well.
