Disney Trip #21 - Magic Kingdom in the Evening

We started the afternoon at the outlets and then popped over to Magic Kingdom last weekend. Chris needed some new work clothes, and I needed a "you are here" MK mug from Starbucks. It's my goal to collect all four from the parks before our passes expire in April.

We got to Magic Kingdom around 4 and while I waited in the Starbucks line Chris and Aria watched the show going on at the castle. Then Aria decided she needed to walk along the concrete bump by the side of the walkways the entire way to Fantasyland. When we got to the Merida meet and greet we decided to get in line since we had yet to see her. We ended up being the last of the little group of guests they let into the meet and greet area, which was nice because nobody felt rushed to let the next family have their turn. When Merida took out her bow though, Aria ran for the hills. She eventually crept up to look at it while holding my hand, but she wasn't going near Merida again until she put that contraption down. It was pretty comical.

Aria really wanted to go play in the Dumbo play area after that. And, then when we made it back outside to ride it was dark. We rode on the Little Mermaid. Had a feast of french fries at Pinocchio Village Haus and then waited in the longest line of Small World ever because Aria insisted. Up next was the Carrousel. Then a fastpass for Peter Pan. Aria and Chris had a dance party by the Tangled bathrooms.

On the way to the front for the fireworks we noticed that Tiana was in her gazebo, and since we had yet to meet her we backtracked to get in line. Plus, Prince Naveen was there and they were a lot of fun. Then we popped into the fastpass viewing area for the fireworks, which we learned was only worth it if you can stand by the fencing at the very front. Aria dozed off a dozen times before and during the fireworks, so Chris and I kept passing her back and forth to wake her up a bit. She caught enough and was out cold by the finale.

A quick change into pjs for Aria and then we headed home. I don't think we made it back until 1am or so, which is why we so rarely stay late unless we are spending the night at a resort! Yawn. But, with our passes coming to an end I wanted one more viewing of the fireworks.

Here is this trip's video. It is a super short one this time.

How many more Disney trips can we squeeze in before April? I think ending with trip #25 sounds like the way to go!

  1. I love that you guys can just pop over to Disney and enjoy the festivities. That's so cool. I can't wait to take the kids to Disney!! Though we have a few years until that trip is planned.

  3. Oh you just have to soak up those visits as much as you possibly can! And again and again! I do love Merida! She was fantastic when we were there! We didn't get to see any fireworks last time and that was very sad. Worth a late night on occasion I would say.

  5. The fireworks are seriously THE BEST PART. Well that and the food. But seriously, night time is so fun at Disney! For Mason's birthday, I really want to take him again and maybe try to stay over if I can convince Seth. It's so much better keeping him up super late and just walking over to the hotel instead of trying to make it home with an overly tired toddler.

  6. 1 am! Wow, you guys are troopers! I need to get some of those Starbucks mugs too when we're there. So funny about Merida and the bow, hahaha. Sounds like a fun afternoon/evening!

  7. Magic Kingdom at night is simply just the best! I have a photo of M with Tiana and the prince at that same age in the same spot :).

  9. So fun! Do you think you guys will end up renewing your passes?

  10. I'm jealous that you guys have been able to go so often. Tim and I were just talking the other day about how we'd love to go back with Mila, but we literally just want to do a day or two at MK. And, with the cost of flights, it wouldn't make sense to fly down for just a few days. I've had that MK mug on my Amazon wish list for a little while now, but it's so overpriced to order it from a third party and have it shipped. You got some great pictures, as always! Love the one of Aria and Chris dancing - so sweet!

  11. Are you not renewing your passes? I will I get to live the Disney life vicariously if not for you?
