Boo at the Zoo

Another Countdown to Halloween event that needed it's own post! I just can't help myself with the picture taking.

This is our third year attending our local Boo at the Zoo. It is always a good time, and tends to be the first time Aria gets to wear her Halloween costume as well. Although the first year we didn't realize it was a costume thing until we arrived. Now we know!

Aria was so excited to go trick or treating this year. She even woke up in the middle of the night crying that she wanted to go trick or treating the next day. Perhaps we made it sound too exciting. That was the night before our trip to the corn maze so I talked to her about the fun things they had at it. She seemed okay with that and went back to sleep.

So, she was definitely ready for our Boo at the Zoo trick or treating! We met up with Aria's godfather and his family, plus another friend. We were the scarecrow, dalmatian, and hot dog. They were Luke Skywalker, Yoda, R2D2, and Chewbacca. Always a fun bunch. Baby Olly was very confused by my nose, it took me half the night to get him to smile at me again.

We trick or treated - Aria was very annoyed when anybody would put the candy in her bucket because she wanted to do that part herself, played some games, took many many pictures, rode the train, entered the costume contest - Aria's dalmatian didn't win but our friends won for the family themed portion, trick or treated some more, and then Aria said she was tired and wanted to go home. She was a tired puppy. The mark of a good night!

  1. Boo at the Zoo sounds like so much fun. I wish we had a zoo closer so we could go. My MiL wanted us to come up to Columbus to go but I didn't want to make the drive. Oops!! Looks like you guys had a blast.

  7. This looks so much fun! I wish "our zoo" was closer than an hour and a half away. They only offer it at night and it's just too late to be so far away. I think we're going to have a hard time keeping Wyatt's hands out of ALL the candy--ha! He's been all about, "What's that?" when we're at the store...like he doesn't know. Hope y'all have a great weekend!

  8. Oh my gosh what a fun event! Amazing. And the palm trees! I like where her godfather's head is at with the theme for the family. We have ourselves a little sibling Star Wars costume thing happening this year as well. Such fun all around!

  9. What an awesome event! How do you find out about these things? I have to start looking into local events, it really makes the holidays that much more special. Aria's puppy costume is darling!

  10. We have yet to go to a boo at the zoo but I want to every year! But between the farm, the village trick or treating w/the train and parties we end up halloweened out! Anyway I LOVE LOVE LOVE her costume! Acutally all of your costumes. It looks like a really fun boo at the zoo too. Activities and trick or treating -- just looks like a blast!

  11. Well, this sounds like so much fun! Clearly Aria thought so too - waking in the middle of the night and all.
I am still swooning over Aria's costume, and loving yours and Chris's as well!

  12. That sounds like so much fun!! I wish our zoo did that. They do a Christmas thing (lights at the zoo) that we went to last year with Desiree and her family and even though it never rains in CA, it rained that day. Go figure. We're trying again this year though!
    Love her dalmation outfit!

  14. Aria is the cutest Dalmatian I have ever seen! You did a great job with her costume. We went to Boo at the Zoo a couple of times with our friends in their town (about 3 hours from here), but have never gone in our area. I've wanted to, the timing just never works out. Also, you make an adorable Scarecrow and the hotdog costume cracks me up.

  15. Love that picture of you two in front of the spider web. And I swear, in some of those photos she looks so grown up. Like four or five. Did she skip a year?? Love your guys' costumes this year!
