Summer Bucket List: Go to a Movie

Sweet Turtle Soup - Summer Bucket List: Go to a Movie
Aria has now gone to her very first movie at the movie theater! She wasn't quite sold on the experience when I asked her, but she was down for anything involving popcorn. So, off we went for popcorn and the Minions movie. After an attempt at sitting in her own seat that failed because she wasn't big enough to keep the seat from folding back up, she sat on dad's lap. The movie kept her interested the whole time and laughing, and the popcorn kept her hands busy. Mom forgot to bring water so she shared my sprite, which was probably her most favorite thing about the entire evening. Overall two thumbs up, and the movie was decently funny.

  1. Connor has the same problem with the chairs... watching him fold up is a bit funny, really!
We went to the drive-in to see Minions, which isn't my preferred method of movie watching but oh well.

  2. Lol! My girls wanted to go to a movie last week, so we went to go see the "Max" movie. I thought...oh Hallie loves dogs, she will be fine...I ended up standing for 75% of the movie!

  3. YAY for movie dates!! We attempted our second movie earlier this summer and the popcorn and Reese's Pieces were certainly key for keeping everyone happy. :)
How was the Minion movie? We're thinking about going, but if there are any scary parts I know we'll be out $12/person, and I'm not really down for all of that.

  6. So much fun!! We put my purse behind Mia (it's seriously as big as a diaper bag, what a pain, but it came in handy to help Mia sit on the seat better!) to help support her back and keep the chair from folding up on her! But Eric got some good snuggles in with her as well, which they both LOVED! I guess I'm just not as comfortable to cuddle with now that my belly is in the way, ha!

  11. So fun!!! We loved the Minion movie too :) Mason wasn't quite big enough to hold the seat down so he bounced around for a while and then Seth held one side during the movie. Surprisingly, we made it through the whole movie and he liked it. I'm glad you guys had a good first movie experience!

  12. What a fun milestone! First movie AND first soda, which is actually an important part of the whole movie experience. Glad she enjoyed it. Too funny about the chairs though!

  13. How fun! I've read that movie is really cute. I can just picture her getting folded up by the chair, haha! Glad that it was a success though.

  14. So fun!! I remember the first time we took Mason to the movies he wasn't big enough to keep the seats down either. Then we learned about the neat little boosters they have for smaller kids! They're in the hallways at theatres around here. It gives them a boost and also has it's own cup-holders for them that they can reach easier! They're fabulous. What did Aria think of Minions? Mason enjoyed it!
