Spring Bucket List - Fingerpaint Outside

Sweet Turtle Soup: Spring Bucket List - Fingerpaint Outside
If you were around the blog last spring/summer, then you probably picked up on my anti-summer vibe. It is hot hot hot, and if you aren't in the water then you are drenched from sweat. It is just the grossest time to live in Florida.

Before having Aria I could just stay inside with the wonderful AC, but anybody that has a toddler knows that being able to get outside can be a game changer. Last summer I co-hosted a Summer Bucket List link up and it really helped motivate me to do fun things outside. I am pretty great with holidays, and planning activities, crafts, etc around special events. But, the holidays taper off after Easter and I'm left unfocused and unmotivated. So all of that equals a Spring Bucket List!!!
Sweet Turtle Soup: Spring Bucket List
First up, fingerpainting outside! We fingerpaint inside all the time. But, move it outside and it takes it to a whole new level. She got a splatter on her arm and instantly asked me to wipe it off. I told her it was okay and that she could make as big of a mess as she wanted - paint outside the lines, use her hands and feet, paint the slide if she wanted to. So she did :)

When she was finished with her two masterpieces, we just got the hose and played in the water to clean everything up.

  4. Oh my gosh, so stinkin' cute!! Aria is a little artist! Haha she actually managed to keep it pretty clean considering you gave her permission to make a mess!! I love your spring bucket list... I think I'll do some of these with Scarlett :)

  5. Great idea! We did the finger painting in the tub that was all over pinterest and it was a huge fail. It got so slippery I thought Reed was going to bust his face open. This is much more our speed! Minus the splits, because, wow your girl is flexible!!

  10. Nakie finger painting? The best!
Can you believe I/we didn't look for a single egg while at Disney this week? #fail !!!
I love your list and will certainly have to steal a few. I'd also throw on there, "help Dad wash the car". Marcus loves helping Scott wash the car. And I love it because it's something they do together and it gives me 20-30 minutes of some free time! Wins for everyone.

  14. SO FUN! Does the finger paint just wash off the deck? What about pavement? We are the opposite here - we are outside ALL SUMMER because it's actually warm enough to do that, so I can see this in our future!! :)

  24. Umm, how smart are you?!?! Finger painting OUTSIDE! Duh. I need to try this. Last time I had Mason finger paint, he was little and he HATED getting dirty. Now he could care less. And of course he loves being naked so this would be a great idea.
I love the picture of her basically doing the splits in order to paint and then the one of her laughing while sitting in the middle of her master piece. So much fun!

  25. Painting outside is definitely the way to go! I've still never been brave enough to paint indoors, and judging by the mess we leave outside, that's probably for the best ;) Water play at the end definitely takes it to a whole new level though. Aria must have loved that!
