Hippity Hop

Easter recap time...
Sweet Turtle Soup: Easter 2015
Aria woke up on Sunday morning excited to see what the Easter bunny had left for her. But, first she insisted on wearing a 'princess dress'. She spotted her basket and ran to it, but then she noticed there was an egg sitting on the couch. So she dumped everything out of her basket and collected all the 'hidden' eggs before even looking at her goodies. Needless to say she was very into the hunting this year.

You can see the details of her basket in this post.

After finding each egg she would break it apart and then dump whatever treat was inside into her basket along with the egg halves. She tried precisely half of one tiny chocolate egg and had no interest in the rest.

She did eventually check out what was inside her basket too. The books as predicted were the highlight. I think Clifford's First Easter is in the lead right now as her new fave. It is hard to compete with lift flaps.

Breakfast was eventually eaten - taters, sausage and fruit, along with one little chocolate bunny for Aria. And then afterwards while Aria and I were reading one of her books my phone rang. It was for her! The Easter Bunny just wanted to let her know that there were eggs to hunt outside.

So outside we went for more egg hunting!

It was awfully hot but Aria found every last tiny plastic (empty) egg. I think there were 50. She didn't even crack one open to see if anything was inside, so I'm sure the Easter Bunny was glad he just hid empty ones. Good call, bunny.

We went back inside for some much needed AC. Lunch was eaten - another little chocolate bunny for Aria. Eggs were dyed and sitting out on the table to dry. Aria insisted on wearing a different fancy Easter dress. I showed her 4 options when she woke up, and she just couldn't get that polka dot one out of her mind I suppose. We were right in the middle of another book when my phone rang. Again it was the Easter Bunny letting Aria know that he noticed her newly dyed eggs and couldn't resist hiding them.

So back outside we went for even more egg hunting!

The bunny (dad) decided she found the last eggs too easily so he hid them in harder places this go around. She still found all of them, and had such a blast! It was so much fun watching her spot one and sprint to it and then chuck it into her basket - I think only 2 or 3 survived the ordeal uncracked. The hazards of being an Easter egg.

For dinner we had honey baked ham, potatoes au gratin, green beans, deviled eggs, and rolls.

Absolutely no complaints this Easter - baskets were enjoyed, eggs were dyed and hunted, and the food was delicious. I wasn't sure if Aria would insist on more fancy Easter dresses the morning after, but she picked a perfectly causal princess dress. More ham and potatoes were, however, the meal of choice!

I hope you had an equally festive Easter, and enjoy your Tuesday!

  1. Sounds like the perfect Easter! And lots of egg hunting! It was definitely fun to see how into it Reese was this year, so I can imagine Aria's excitement too :) How did you get that Easter bunny call on your phone? Did you change Chris' number/picture?

Love how the bunny called you guys - we are going to have to see if we can get him to call us next year. Your Spanish moss hanging from the trees make a beautiful back drop.
I think next year we will head to FL for Easter - ya'll make some great food :)
    Have a good week

  11. LOVE that the Easter Bunny called her. That's too cute! And I love that there were outfit changes throughout the day. That's very princessy/Oscars host of her ;) I came across that popcorn you posted in her basket at Target the other day, and had to get two. They lasted exactly two days. I'm pretty sure those are single serving bags, right??

  18. Oh my gosh, how cool that the Easter bunny called! (how did you do that???) Did he actually talk to her on the phone? I bet she was in heaven!
Sounds like she liked her egg hunt as much as Mason liked his. He dominated the one at the park and then was kinda over it after 10+ eggs at home. It was so fun to watch him gather his eggs though!
Sounds like you guys had a great Easter, complete with a yummy dinner!
