Two and One Quarter Gear Favorites

25th, 26th, 27th Month Toddler Gear & Toy Favorites
1. KidKraft Vintage Kitchen - Aria got this for Christmas courtesy of her great grandma. It was an instant hit. We probably should have let her open it last because it was a challenge to get her to open anything else after she saw she could pretend wash her hands in her own little sink.
2. Hape Toaster / Coffee Maker / Mixer - What is a kitchen without kitchen gadgets? Aria's favorite is probably the coffee maker. She makes her own sound effects and drinks more coffee a day than I do. I personally think that they are the cutest play kitchen accessories I've ever seen too, plus wooden.
3. Melissa & Doug Fruits / Vegetables - She also got fruits and veggies to stock her kitchen with. I'm always finding a banana, potato, or peach in the oddest of places. Plus, it is endless fun having her bring you every single piece of fruit or vegetable one at a time. Great for identifying fruits and veggies, and color recognition. Her absolutely favorite out of them all are the strawberries. She tries to bring them everywhere with her. I'm surprised we haven't lost one or both by now.
4. Melissa & Doug Slice and Bake Cookie Set -This is actually the set that started it all. She got it for her birthday, which is right before Christmas, from her aunt. She ended up loving it so much that we thought, hey why not get her an entire kitchen! She usually has all the cookies plus her two strawberries and a couple pats of butter in a bowl that she just carries around all day.
5. Sofia the First Wooden Magnetic Dress-Up Play Set - Aria got this for her Birthday, I think, or maybe Christmas. One of those presents that got lost in the shuffle, and I am not even sure who gave it to her. I didn't think she'd actually like it just yet, but I put it in her puzzle box and now it is one of her favorite things to play with before bed.
6. Disney Prettiest Princess Castle Play-Doh set - I keep this up high and hidden because there is only so much 'punzel' hair I can squish out for Aria in one go. If you notice the tower...it comes apart and you can shove playdoh in it and then squish out hair next to Rapunzel's picture. It is a little hard to squish down for Aria, so that is mom's job. Play-doh doesn't rank high on my list of fun toys but it will pull Aria out of a funk in two seconds flat if I bring it out for her. I did get her to do a little imaginative play with the three princesses that come with the set last time we used it though - they had a tea party in the castle.
7. Button Art - Amanda from Tickled Pink suggested this toy months ago, so I put it on Aria's wish list and she ended up getting it for her birthday. It did great things for Aria's color recognition and putting green where the green goes etc. The first few times she just put the buttons willy nilly, but then we told her to match the buttons and she rocked it. This was back when her favorite color was orange and everything was orange. I guess she knew her colors she just didn't want to let on to it.
8. Don't Break the Ice - Another Amanda suggestion! Chris and I love board games, so anything that gets us ready for family game night is a hit. This one is a great first game. It is extremely simple, and helps her learn to take turns. I think Aria has lost every single game except that one time I totally knocked the bear off, but we all have fun. Aria will last about three games before getting restless.
9. If You Give a Moose a Muffin / Little Blue Truck Board Book / The Day the Crayons Quit / Sofia the First / One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish / Princess Adventure Stories - Aria loves to read. These are a few of her most favorite ones recently. The Day the Crayons Quit is currently my personal favorite.

  7. I'm intrigued by Button Art and Don't Break the Ice. We love family games too, but usually only play anything if Ez is distracted, otherwise it's no fun to have to chase him down for the dice each turn. This would be a fun way to actually include him.

  12. I want "The Day the Crayons Quit" so bad!!! Is that weird? lol. I might need to make it makes its way into Mason's Easter basket! I also want "Dragons Eat Tacos". I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger because they are both hard cover and over $10 and I'm... cheap lol. I'm also LOVING that little coffee maker that totally looks like my Keurig!

  13. I love the mixer and coffee maker - adding those to my amazon wish list :) Our play kitchen gets a lot of use too; it's one of those things that all kids seem to love. We haven't ventured into playdoh yet - not one of my favorites either, so I'm holding off, haha!
