Twenty Three Months Old

November 2nd
Twenty Three Months Old
Twenty Three Months Old
Twenty Three Months Old
Weight: 29 lbs.

Height: 33 1/2 inches.

Sleep: Bedtime is at 8 and up around 7:30-8:30, same as last month. Nap time is around 1:00 and lasts until about 3-3:30, but a decent amount of willy nilly has been added this month. When we were all hit with a fun sickness at the start of October nap time went to hell. And, sadly today starts DST so who knows how that will ruin everything.

Clothes: Solidly wearing 24 months. Those 18 months were stretching to their limit. And, since it was actually cold this weekend she could use some jeans that don't look like capris.

Diapers: Size 4 Pampers baby dry. No cloth diapers. Same on the potty training front, she'll do her business if you put her on the toilet but doesn't ask.

Loves: closing doors, running laps around the porch, toast, trick or treating/the candy, her babies - which is not only dolls but misc anything like window clings, reading, singing 'dem bones', trucks, saying nuh uh instead of no, making faces - happy, sad, silly, etc, the colour orange, Sophia the First and Doc McStuffins, helping bake and do laundry, and going bye-bye.

Hates: being told 'no'. She's doing a good job of calming down when we tell her to take a deep breath.

Milestone Progress: I love the talking! A few of my faves this month have been 'treat' 'dem bones' 'onions' and 'me no me no'.

We did a lot of baking in October so she got really good at dumping, stirring, turning on the mixer, and taste testing.

Less tantrum-y this month, although we've only had one really enthusiastic tantrum...so far. But, she continues to be a biter. If she gets frustrated she goes for a bite, mostly on mom. She had her first time out the other day over biting. But, so far she still remembers that time out and really doesn't want to repeat it. Officially my least favourite of her phases.

Teeth: Her top canine teeth popped through so she is up to 16 teeth. Could be more but putting my fingers in her mouth isn't usually a wise move.

Eats: She loves eating things while walking about. She shared a burger with Chris out on the porch a few days ago, and she has never eaten a burger ever before...not for lack of them on her plate. She is a fan of fruit, bread, veggies, cheese, and meat on a bone. No pasta.

  1. 23 months?! That means a party next month! Wow I swear I just starting reading your blog and she was so little and now she's a full fledged toddler! Biting - ouch! At least the tjme out worked. Discipline is a real struggle here. About the only thing that works is taking things away. Talking rocks and it just keeps getting better! Eating on the run - that sounds famiar. Not a fav here either but sometimes you just roll with it. Happy 23mo cutie!!!

  3. Aw, what a cutie pie :) Coat + sandals, we've got that same weather dilemma going on over here too. Ez is not a pasta fan either, except mac & cheese. Not sure what's wrong with these kids... And meat on a bone, lol, I just picture her gnawing away on a t-bone, Fred Flintstone style ;)

  4. The talking is sooooo much fun, isn't it? She's got to be the first toddler I know of that doesn't like pasta! Also, I'm completely jealous of her sleep schedule- so long and predictable! Happy almost-two Aria!

  7. Biting is no fun but the talking totally is! I love little vocabulary & the things they pick up on! She is just too cute! And no worries, Greyson doesn't usually eat pasta either! He used to, but now he won't even try it! Goofballs! Ah I hope the party planning is in full swing! Can't wait to see what you have in store for her big day! :)

  8. Cute pictures! I can't believe she's 23 months, almost 2!! I love that one of her words includes 'onions' :) We haven't had much biting around here, but when Reese gets frustrated, she often throws whatever she has and makes a frustrated 'ahhhh!' sound. Are you in party planning mode now? I am! :)

  9. I can't believe she will be TWO SO SOON! She just gets cuter and cuter! CANNOT wait to see her party so soon!
Side note : I'm pretty sure she and Mason weigh the same. Except he is solidly in size 6 diapers and size 2T clothes. How is this possible??
