Summer Bucket List #4 - fireworks

I've been looking forward to crossing this one off the Summer Bucket list for weeks!

If you missed yesterday's Disney post, we went to Magic Kingdom for the 4th with the intent of seeing the spectacular fireworks show in the evening. We braved hordes of people, threat of thunderstorms, and being in close proximity to other peoples' sweat. And, we were victorious

We left at noon so Aria could get in a solid nap in the car on the drive over in the hopes that she would be rested enough to stay up past her bedtime. And, she did beautifully. Not a single tantrum the whole day and she was awake until 10:15. She did, however, save up those tantrums for the next morning. She was quite the testy toddler until a good long nap saved her mood. But, I'd rather deal with the tantrums from the comfort of my living room than in the longest tram line ever. So I'm counting it in the win column.

I was also a little weary of her reaction to the fireworks. She is actually rarely phased by loud noises, or 'scary' whatnots, but you still never can tell how a toddler will react. Especially one that is tired. But, the fireworks started up and she just watched the show with a little serious expression on her face and every time there was a lull in the booms she would start asking for more.

This serious face! You'd think she was not enjoying herself at all with the head on mom and the furrowed brow, but I'm telling ya she really enjoyed the show. Frankly she was a little peeved when I couldn't make more booms go off.

Our view from adventureland. Finding a spot 10 minutes before showtime in any central location was just not going to happen. But, I was rather fond of our tiki spot.

You can also just see the castle in the distance.

It was a 4th for the books! I am not overly fond of crowds, but it was well worth it to see some fantastic booms (Aria's new favourite word).
So, how is your Summer Bucket list coming along? Let us know below! For more details check out the end of this post.

  7. Totally sounds like one for the "win" column! The "more boom" I think it's the sweetest thing ever- gosh if only I had that power...

  8. I love that you watched from Adventureland! Savanna actually didn't watch fireworks. She was in bed by 8, as usual. Getting that girl to stay up past bedtime is impossible!!! I'm so jealous you guys spent the 4th at Disney!

  13. That's awesome that she enjoyed the fireworks. So many little ones are scared of the noise. And yay for checking another thing off the bucket list. We tackled our Summer bucket list this weekend and checked several things off!

  15. Oh my gosh, what fun! Disney always has the BEST fireworks!!! We can hear Disneyland's from our house, but sadly cannot see them. If we could, I would sell tickets and charge people to sit on the lawn (that we don't have lol). Mason did amazing with the loud booms and bright lights as well. I was pleasantly surprised. And he also stayed up past his bed time, did amazing that night, and then the next day... woke up early and was a grump. Seriously? Sleep in if you are tired! Toddlers.
And umm, your new button on the side bar... ADORABLE!!!!!!
