Summer Bucket List #5 - water play & family walk

Making it a double this week!

First up is 'water play'. We've played in all sorts of water this summer - the ocean, the pool, the sprinkler, the hose, the rain, the water table, and various blow up pools. But, I thought this one was just different enough to be a fun way to cross 'water play' off the list.
So we've had a lot of rain lately/all summer long. And, after one of our afternoon storms Chris took Aria outside to frolic around the yard while I made dinner. Next thing I know Chris is calling me out to see what they've been doing, go out front and bring your camera.
Florida Rain Storms
This is what I found!
Florida Rain Storms
Just some water cruising in the little pink car.

Her face in the above one is my favourite. Looks like she is saying 'woosh' or something of that nature. It's funny that she wasn't smiling really big. You'd think she wasn't enjoying herself but every time dad stopped she would grunt and sign 'more' over and over. She's a slave driver that one.

Second up is family walk.

On one of those afternoons where it wasn't raining when Chris got off from work we hit up our favourite only local walking trail.

We also invited Aria's godfather to come along.

Because somebody has to take the family photo!

She let Kiel know wanted one more of...something. Sometimes you just never know. One more picture? One more goofy face?
Florida Trails
Kiel helping her throw sticks and leaves over the railing. Sticks are practically her most favourite thing ever and definitely a big hit when we walk this trail.

Our area definitely isn't family walk friendly. No sidewalks. No handy cross walks. It is nice that we have this trail so close, and we could almost walk to it if we didn't have to cross three busy streets to get there...and also the no sidewalk thing. Not to mention it is really unpleasantly hot in Florida during the summer. We definitely miss Boulder and it's walking path ways when we feel like taking a stroll. But, still fun to get out on occasion and hit the wood.

  1. What a good daddy! And points for creativity coming up with that water play! I think it's so wise that you made this list and are a tally crossing things off. Before you know it the summer is done and if you aren't careful things get missed. I really should try and be more conscious of that because this fall letty starts school and my world will totally change. No more free reign we will be on a schedule!

    And yay for walking trails!

Our girls LOVE an evening walk we used to not have many options but lately the city has been stepping it up and adding a lot of sidewalk, can't wait for some fall walks outside!
