Happiest Birthday Weekend Extravaganza - Part Two

And, now for part two of my Birthday celebration. If you missed part one's recap of Saturday and Sunday, check it out here. My actual Birthday was on Monday, March 31st (I don't know about you...but I'm feeling 28). Let me tell you all about what we did!

We spent the morning in our typical fashion. Lounging in pajamas, eating cookie cake, and watching Frozen on the floor with balloons.
After breakfast my personal stylist helped me get ready for the day.
When nap time hit we packed into the car and took off for Downtown Disney. Our first stop upon arrival was lunch at Earl of Sandwich. None of us had ever eaten there before, and it was mighty tasty. Chris said his Greek salad was one of the best he has ever had. My club was delish. And, Aria ate and ate and ate. We had a table outside and she people watched and munched on her grilled cheese and fruit cup for over an hour. Very un-Aria-like.
After a long and leisurely lunch we got Aria's silhouette done. I love it so much.
Then Aria got to take a spin on the carousel before we left. Her smile makes my heart grow, just like the Grinch! I told Chris he could do the first carousel, but I get to do the Prince Charming Regal Carousel. There is a little video on the carousel in yesterday's post too.
Next we made our way over to Fantasia Gardens mini golf. While we waited for our tee time Aria found Donald Duck, was completely uninterested in a photo op with mama, and tried to make a seat out of mini hedges (she even left a butt dent).
I can't remember the last time I played a round of mini golf, but let me tell you it is a whole new world with a toddler. I got an arm workout out of it. We started off with a tiny golf club for Aria, but that lasted all of a hot second.
So plan B was me hitting the first shot and then Aria would go find the ball and put it in the hole for me.
That lasted for about half of the course. Plan C was tandem swings and trying to keep Aria from face planting off hills. She was hell bent on climbing up that red bumpy incline.
Things kind of devolved after that when the water features started popping up. By that point our motto was whatever floats her boat. She ended up soaked from the waist down and happy.
Chris takes his mini golf seriously by the way. He didn't want Aria to help out, and since he won I guess that was the way to go. Although he only won by a few points. I'm sure I would have beaten him without Aria's 'help'.
By the time we were done mini golfing it was dinner time. We had a quick bite at The Art of Animation (resort), which was terrible, before driving back home. I picked the location because I wanted to take a peak at it, but the food was lame. I have heard good things about the pizza and pasta station though, so if you end up at AoA keep to the safe options. Although Aria liked her naan.
In conclusion, I had a downright awesome Birthday extravaganza! But, mini golf with a toddler is exhausting and sometimes Disney makes questionable food choices.

I hope you enjoyed taking a peak at my Birthday as much as I enjoyed partaking in it!

Have a terrific Thursday (wow, Thursday already? I had to check the calendar. This week has flown by)!

    1. Thank you so much!

Definitely a day for the books. We always love popping over to Downtown Disney. I'm sure Josephine will love it, especially if she loves to people watch like Aria. Lots of little things to entertain.

    1. We saw the silhouette kiosk on our last trip Downtown and I told Chris that I wanted to get Aria's done for my birthday! I have a silhouette set of myself when I was somewhere around 12...I think, maybe. I'm thinking I'd like one done each year for my birthday. And, it is such a reasonable price for something at Disney that is such a great souvenir.

  3. Wow, that silhouette is gorgeous! Your Birthday looked like so much fun! I haven't played mini golf in years, but those photos made me want to go and play while Arlo is still happy to be "contained".

    1. Yes, take advantage of it!!! I was not at all expecting it to be so hard. I don't know why, she is a busy toddler bee now so I should have made the connection. We'll definitely go again when she is a little more self contained =)

  4. What a great day! I am so envious that you can just pop over there for the day like that! I love Earl of Sandwich! Yum! And I have a silhouette just like that from when I was a child - it's so precious. What a great day!!

    1. It is definitely a trade off to deal with the heat and humidity (and tourists) all year for the ability to hit up Disney any ol time. I sure hope Aria has a love for Disney like me and my husband do. An old friend from high school's little boy is not a fan at all....kept saying he wanted to go home. I think he was 2. Break my heart!

I have a silhouette from when I was a kid too. One of the reasons I wanted one of Aria. I knew my grandma would be head over heels for it as well.

    1. Definitely an awesome Birthday! I think Chris wishes we lived either further away or closer than an hour from Orlando - the drive is a bore, plus gas money, plus I always want to head out that way =) The beach is closer though, so he has that!

    1. Maybe when I start posting way too often about all the fun we have at the parks you will want to take Callie post haste! If not, just send her down and I'll take her! She can see all the princesses =)

  7. What an awesome birthday! I can't believe she sat in a high chair for an hour! I'm so jealous. The most we ever get is about 12 minutes. Love the carousel photos. LOVE them.

    1. Right? That never happens. She is really good about sitting in it for the eating portion, but as soon as she is done she is done. I want out I want out now. I'm the slowest eater in the world, so I have to inhale my food to be able to eat anything when we go out. Totally okay though if I don't have to cook it =)
Me too! They are some of my fave pictures, I want one in a frame somewhere!

    1. You are in Miami if I am not mistaken? Do you guys travel over to Orlando often? Next time you are at Downtown you should definitely get their silhouette made, it takes no time at all and I think it is as reasonable as Disney prices come! I have one from when I was a kid, and I think it is such a fun keepsake.

  9. Ahh! Oh my gosh, I love so much about this. Where to start! First of all, love that you got to celebrate your bday so many days! Second, DisneyWorld has Mickey mini golf?! What is CA thinking! We need this too. Third, we have an Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney here and I have never tried it but after your recommendation, I think we should! I have always wanted to. It looks good! Four, Aria is SO cute in all of these! Mason loves the carousel and I can tell she does too! And five, a selfish question. How did you make the "birthday monday"? PicMonkey?

    1. Oh I know my husband totally spoiled me this year! The best part was that he took off work Saturday and Monday, so instead of his usual one day weekend it was three days of help and fun! We may have been super busy but it was a total recharge for me having help with Aria. So nice.
Disney World has three I think and a non mini one. This is the first time I've ever been, it was a super cute theme. Land needs to get with the program! Although from what I understand there isn't such a big ol' area of land for expansion. World is like a city unto itself, maybe literally so...I'm not up on my Disney trivia I suppose.
Yes, Earl! Do it! I've realized lately that I do the same things over and over at Disney so I'm making it a goal to try new things and eat new places. Earl was definitely a win, although the line was pretty long even at 230 or so when we finished eating.
Ugh I know Aria just melts my heart left and right.
It is super simple. I start in paint (because the font I use is not available on picmonkey) - I just open a txt box and type in the word (make the font pretty big - it took me a few tries to find the right sizing), then I resize the whole white box to just a little bigger than the word. Then I pop over to picmonkey and make a canvas for however big I want my header/word to be, overlay the paint image and expand it to the right size. Save it and that is it.

  11. Happy belated Birthday! Cookie cake is my kind of breakfast. I'm always curious about the Earl of Sandwich, but everytime we got to Downtown Disney there's a HUGE line, so I've still never tried it. Maybe next time...

Love all the pics, and looks like you had a great day full of family time :)

    1. mmm mine too! That or ice cream. Or both!

Definitely give it a try next time. I wish I could say there is a time when the line is shorter, buttt I've never seen it anything but stupidly long. I'm sure it happens...maybe.

  12. More birthday fun!!! Love love love the silhouette! Such a sweet keepsake! P.s. Do you always fix your hair lounged in a chair with a toddler jumping on you? That's a workout!
