Mommy & Me Monday - It's a Walk in the Park

We took a morning stroll around a local birding trail over the weekend. Aria loves being outside and walking around the backyard, so we thought it would be a fun outing for her. Let me show you how it went...

 Walking is fun!
(not pictured) Tripping 16 seconds later and opening up the cut on her knee from when she fell off of the porch a few days ago. There were many tears and knee blows.

Looking at you mom.

 So much to see.

 Wait, we aren't done yet?

Hates it.

Whoa, wait there is nature over there.

Oh, I like keys. This is okay.

How about we just sit for a while.

Let's collect some leaves too.

I changed my mind. I hate it again.

Oh, piggies. I'm down with piggies.

This way mama.

This is not so bad either.

So, clearly not as successful of a walk as we thought it would be but I think we had more fun than tears. Extra sweat and a few bug bites thrown in too. Oh, and Chris busted my lip taking the camera from around my neck. Literally it was the walk of blood, sweat, and tears.

And, yes, Chris shaved off his mountain man scraggle beard (click here if you need a reminder of how that looked) - I haven't finished my rejoicing as of yet.

    1. She made a lot of friends that morning. Every time she saw somebody else walking the path she would immediately stop crying and watch them and then start to follow them. My favourite were the two elderly gentleman in suspenders she made friends with!

    1. ha, I got to the end of writing the post and I was thinking 'man, we got bloody, sweaty, and she cried...oh just like the group!' At first I wrote trail but then it reminded me too much of trail of tears and that wasn't the connection I was really aiming for. Life with a toddler sure can be rough, and involves much more bumps bruises and blood than I ever anticipated.

    1. We hadn't walked the trail since she was mobile, so it was nuts how different it was letting her walk all on her own. Many stops for certain. Never what you expect with a babe!

  7. Oh my goodness, Courtney! She is just too adorable! I can't wait til Maylee starts walking!!! Looking at Aria's pics get me so excited about my daugher, I want to squeal! haha. Chris' beard being gone is the first thing I've noticed in your fam picture lol. I thought about saying something about the big beard being gross, but I figure that maybe you were into that kind of stuff so I just shut my mouth! He looks like he's from this world now hehe

    1. Walking is a whole new world! So fun when new milestones hit. I feel the same way reading blogs that have babes that are a few months older than Aria - right now talking has me jazzed, that will be too cute!
Ugh the beard was terrible. I don't know what he was thinking. I'm down with stubble and even a trimmed normal beard, but the hobo look was not my fave. So glad he shaved it!

    1. Right? My husband and I were semi cracking up at her. I thought she'd love walking by herself - that is all she wants to do at home when we are outside! I was worried she would be a pain in the butt wanting to self walk all through Disney when we go in a few months, but now I'm thinking it won't really be an issue =)

    1. Thank you! Isn't a sweet one. Tea Company - definitely on the expensive side, but they are very cute!
Oh no, I thought it was pretty funny how upset she was getting that we wanted her to walk - how could you even suggest such a thing mama!?! I was like what happened to my absolutely-don't-hold-me kid that runs around the back yard? I was cracking up going through the photos too. Kids are nuts.
