Currently: March

Thinking about: our upcoming to trip to Disney World. We just bought our annual passes the other day to get the payment taken care of, but we won't be going for a bit still. I've been figuring out this new fastpass+ thing, but mainly drooling over all the 'flower and garden' food booths. Fruishi? Yes, please!

Planning: all sorts of Leprechaun shenanigans and St. Patrick's day fun! It is pretty awesome to have so many great ideas at my finger tips via the internet.

Reading: City of Glass by Cassandra Clare, for the second time.

Listening to: the sound of my computer fan whirring - "the gentle and soothing lullaby of a piece of machinery so perfect..." I enjoy a quiet environment so there isn't normally music or noises going on, but Aria and I do like to break out in song periodically throughout the day.

Watching: I've been catching up on Mad Men. I'm still a season behind from the current one. I need to catch up on Downton Abbey too. I despise watching weekly episodes, so I wait until I can watch the whole season at my leisure.

Wanting: to not go to the DMV tomorrow. Way to ruin a perfectly good day, license renewal.

Thankful for: video monitors so I can 'baby stalk' Aria in the evenings and at night. And, the simple comfort of a soft bed with a warm blanket.

  1. How close do you live to Disney? So awesome that you get an annual pass. My best friend and her family are there this week. Today is her daughter’s 5th birthday so they made a trip to Disney. I’m living vicariously through her pictures. I think we’ll take Mason next year for his 5th! St Patricks Day shenanigans are fun! Mason is doing a lot of it at school. I’ve never watched Downtown Abbey or Mad Men, but I’ve heard great things about both. Maybe I should start those.

    1. We are a little over an hour away from WDW. I'm a total Disney-aholic. Aria hasn't been to the parks yet but we've been on property with her a couple times. I'm super excited to take her to the parks this spring! And, a little nervous - but hopefully she has a blast, she loves people watching if nothing else. Aww that is awesome that they took her for her birthday, I think 5 is a pretty good age to go. I remember things from when I was that age, so hopefully they retain something of the magic. Originally we were going to do annual passes when Aria turned 2 because she is free until she turns 3, and then an annual for a 3 year old is like 600 bucks. Ouch, that is a big jump from nada. But, my husband said we could afford to do it this year - can't say no to that!
I've decided to do 3 days of St. Patrick's day fun because of that book...it is like elf on the shelf but just three nights. So I was trying to find super easy cheap simple things to do, I'm all about being festive but I prefer it to be an easy festive =)

    1. I think 75% of why my husband got us annual passes was to keep me from constantly saying how much I wanted to take Aria to WDW. Nagging at it's finest! I can totally picture Lex having the best time at DL. Esp after her birthday dress! She's already a princess.

  3. lol! about the license renewal! it is definitely true where I live! you have to plan to spend at least an hour and a half for the minimum stay at that crowded place! but, after you get the renewed license, it's like the biggest relief in the world-at least to me it is!

thanks for stopping by my blog! you made my day! :-)

and yes, I too relish the moments of quiet and enjoy the sound (of silence) as well!
have a good rest of the week!

    1. Ugh, official government office type places are the worst. So slow. So stupid. So ridiculous in their rules. Needless to say my trip was completely unproductive. It is like I need a renewal AND a name change and the system falls apart. Geesh.

    2. I know about all that too!! no joke! just take things one requirement at a time and before you know it you will be done! :-)

  4. I hate going to the DMV!! This is maybe probably most likely why I haven't claimed my motorcycle title haha. On a brighter note, I love that we have a baby monitor! hah It is like stalking isn't it?! I definitely appreciate the fact that I can see Maylee sleeping in her crib through the baby monitor without getting up and going to her room. We didn't bring our monitor when we went to Las Vegas last month and I was so worried the entire time she slept in a different room!

    1. Such a hassel, I always put off things...now my license will expire at the end of the month so I really had to get on it.
Pre-Aria I thought video monitors were so useless and a waste of money, and then as soon as she started sleeping in the nursery I was like omg I need one right now gimme gimme. We actually bring our monitor with us any time we travel just in case! It is really nice to know what is going on in there.

    1. Exactly! I went early and because I have a really stupid name change issue that nobody can solve they sent me back right away, so I technically didn't have to wait but I had to wait about an hour and a half while everybody tried to help me and couldn't. Ugh.

  7. I just love the way you added in those fun Pins! I too love Mad Men and am a bit behind on the current season. It's one of my favorite pastimes to just sit down and catch up on a show. :) Hope you made it through the DMV! I think we can all relate to how awuful that can be. Thanks for linking up!

    1. Oh, thank you! It kind of rolled on its own after I added the Disney picture, I was like oh this one has a pic I should find pics for them all!
Mad Men is such a well done show, love it. And, I find it funny because if I think back to the whole series..nothing happens, and yet it is still so good!
The DMV chewed me up and spit me out sadly. But, at least they hopefully sent me in the right direction. Ugh.

    1. I'd love to know why I need 400 forms of ID and mail every time I renew. I needed all this at the start sure, but now? And, of course it's never the right 400 forms. Just a big ol' pain in the rear.

  9. I've been trying to talk Scott into getting DisneyLand season pass, but he keeps vetoing my idea. GAH! I think it'd be so much fun, especially since we are less than an hour away!
Like you, I HATE waiting to watch my favorite shows week to week. I just let the shows record on the DVR and then watch them as I see fit. :)

    1. You should do a little price comparison with him! I'm assuming Disneyland is 3 and under free as well, so just show him that Marcus is free for just another year but after that he will be something like 500 bucks. Clearly it is a wise investment!
A DVR would probably be a great new gadget, but we don't even have one. We practically never turn the TV on. I think we'd probably get more use out of it if we could record shows and watch whenever.

  11. Hope you and your family have fun at WDW. My family and I went for the first time last summer. While we had lots of fun I wish would would have taken my kids when they were a lot younger.
