Five on Friday: Happy Valentine's Day

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG
Linking up with the good life blog, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello! Happiness today to share all the Valentine fun we've been up to this week!

Arts & Crafts:
We made a 'love' sign.
We played in a Valentine sensory bin. Aria's favourites were the necklaces.
We made a heart garland, and promptly squished it.
And, we played with a heart squishy bag.

 Mommy & Me time:
Red toes!
Reading Aria's Valentine book - Where You Are My Love Will Find You.

Heart Shaped Food:
Pancakes.
Toast and bananas - although the bananas look more like pacmen.
Donuts!

Balloon fun:
At the beach.
While eating.
And, in the backyard.

Sent & Received Valentine's:
Aria's Valentine's.
Receiving a Valentine from Adrienne.

  1. The canvas paint is such a cute idea! Might have to tuck that one away for gifts for grandparents. :)
    Happy Valentine's Day!!

    1. Baby marshmallows are the key to our print success - just in case you need something to keep a non-sitting-still toddler to sit still for just 5 seconds! And, I love how it turned out - other than my perfectionist ways being annoyed that the L paint brush was too big and wasn't as smooth as I wanted it and doesn't match the E that I like better. Would make a terrible cute gift!

      Happy Valentine's Day!

    1. I love love love hand print or foot print art. We've done three now for the past few holidays, and they are my favourite bits of decor. Plus, I'll probably get teary bringing them out in a year...

      Happy Valentine's Day!

  4. I have to agree with Erin ^^^ ...seriously, you two are SO STINKIN CUTE!!! The sensory bin is so great and all the treats and photos...just every thing! A loves her Valentine, too...but is a little hesitant on the gummy worms, haha! (More for mommy ;))

    1. I think my favourite is seeing her little red toesies. She is such a little lady now =) You could paint Adrienne's to match your celebratory welcome to the world Ellyn colours!
haha, yeah sour gummie worms were decided on prior to having any actual little ones to send them to. I'll have to rethink demographically next year =)

    1. Right? The little lady toes totally make me smile every single time I see them on her little chubby feet. Plus, it was a lot easier to paint them than I thought it would be...I did it while she was eating breakfast. Might turn into a monthly thing =)

      Happy Valentine's Day!

    1. I'm glad I made it right at the start of the month because it just makes me so happy every time I notice it. Plus, it is easier to actually do crafts when Aria doesn't do much but let me paint her feet =) I'm sure it will get trickier when she wants to help more, which I'm assuming won't be too much longer.

It is Melbourne Beach, Florida...just past the library. It probably has a more specific name but I don't remember it off hand. Are you familiar with Florida beaches?

  8. Oh my gosh. These pics of Aria are too much!! She so cute! Those little Valentine's are really cool. I wish I would've had the time to make something for Elliot's daycare! Great job mama!

    1. Thank you! My original thought for the Valentine's were homemade chocolate covered gummies (which are amazing, btw) and 'bear hugs', but then realized how much effort that would take. Print, bag, staple...much easier!

You didn't have time to make something, but you did send the cutest Valentine to day care anyway!

      Happy Valentine's Day!

    1. I really thought I was slacking in the festive department until I put together this post. It was all spread out and super simple little things that it didn't feel like a lot at all! I can't get enough hand print/ foot print canvas crafts - we've done spiders for Halloween and reindeer for Christmas! Love them so much =)

I hope you had a great Valentine's and have a great weekend!

    1. Donuts always sound like a good idea (and then of course my husband brings home a dozen...clearly I need that many) and then I eat half of one and I'm fine for months. That is probably a good thing. Aria and I managed about 4 and sent the rest to her godfather!
The hand print or foot print canvases are just my favourite thing! I wish I would have made a few when Aria was super tiny, it just seemed like a lot of work (it really isn't).

Hope you had a great Valentine's! And, have a great weekend too =)

Hope you had a great Valentine's, and have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you! I have too much fun crafting with Aria, probably doesn't hurt that it is mostly just me doing it and then snatching her feet for 2 minutes to finish the project! No messy toddler painting clean up at all =) I doubt that will last much longer, ha.

      Have a great weekend =)

    1. The red nails totally make my day! I was leaning more towards 'boy' predictions before we found out the gender, but when we found out 'girl' one of the first things I day dreamed about was painting her nails =) I'm a wee bit obsessed! It is cute when she stops and points to her toes too.
She loves her balloons, and she has 5 floating around the house now! She is just so easy to please most of the time =)

Our Valentine's was pretty great, and the weather was lovely! I hope yours was as nice, and have a great weekend =) I'm glad you commented it reminded me to stop over to youtube!

    1. haha, yay! I'm glad you loved it. I didn't realize we'd done so much festive things this month until I gathered up the pictures for this post. They were all so spread out and easy it didn't feel like a lot. Who has more fun than a toddler? =)

Our Valentine's Day was lovely, I hope yours was fantastic! And, have a great weekend!

    1. Mine too! I'm glad I finally painted her little toes. It is one of the things I looked forward to most when I found out I was having a little girl. But, I thought it was going to be a lot harder to accomplish so I put it off. Turns out it took 7 seconds during breakfast. Makes me smile every time I see her little red toenails =)

  16. That Valentine sign is adorable! I'm so impressed at how well the hand/footprints turned out. Ours were not so cute, ha! And everyone keeps posting pictures of donuts, they're making me so hungry!

    1. I'm impressed myself. The first time we did hand prints we did spiders for Halloween and they were...blobs basically. I showed my grandma and she had no idea what they were, ha. She wiggled a lot during the process. But, the other two times we've done it now she's been great and the prints turn out quite clear. Maybe the age or she knew what to expect after the first bout helped. Don't despair! Give them another try in a month =)
