10th & 11th Month Favourites

1. Maxi Cosi Pria 70 Convertible Car Seat - I love, love, love our convertible car seat. I wanted this one in particular because we live in Florida and it promises breathability. When Aria was in her infant car seat she would end up red faced and sweaty on most car rides, which just sounds miserable - poor thing. So far since using the Pria we haven't had any of that. Granted it has gotten cooler, but there are still plenty of toasty days and it keeps her so much cooler. If that was its only perk I would still love it, but it also so much nicer than the infant car seat. Aria has more room, the straps are easier to buckle, she looks so much more comfortable in it, and it fits better than the infant car seat so I can slide the passenger seat back a notch or two. My only complaint is that it takes all my strength to push in the red button to unbuckle her, but apparently Chris has no issues doing this so it is only my thumb weakness I guess.

2. Board books - I don't know why I completely overlooked board books before October. These things are amazing. Aria likes to grab and rip and sit on and bend and slide books, but that would ruin a regular book. And, then I got Five Little Pumpkins in a board book. It was a game changer. I can read it to her and let her hold it without fear of complete ruin. I'm pretty sure the rest of the world knew about the genius of board books, but just in case you are like me totally get board books. And, Five Little Pumpkins is my absolute favourite one. A Pumpkin Prayer is also super cute too and perfect for November!

3. Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse - We had this before Aria was born, but for some reason it took me a while to actually use it. One day a few months ago when Aria was fighting sleep I decided to click on her seahorse and put it in the crib. She instantly stopped crying and just stared at it, and then fell asleep. (Do a little dance!) Now it doesn't work so magically every time, but it just about always makes her stop crying and most of the time she calms down enough to fall asleep. However, don't turn it on if baby is drowsy enough on their own because it keeps Aria up if I do that. It is our emergen-seahorse! Sometimes she will wake up in the middle of the night and attack it until it turns on so she can stare at it too. I was completely amused when I witnessed it one night. She didn't make a peep, just turned it on 2-3 times and went back to sleep. But, definitely helpful when Aria is not wanting to go down at night.

4. Green Toys, My First Stacker - I've been wanting a stacking toy for a while, but never remembered to pick one up. Finally I ordered this one with my last box of diapers. Aria loves to knock it down or beat two pieces together. So far there has been no interest in restacking, but she has so much fun making a big mess so that I have to hunt for a few minutes to find the random middle piece that rolled behind the chair. Plus, it is made from 100% recycled milk jugs and made in the USA.

5. Pewi Ybike Ride On Toy and Walking Buddy - She loves rolling after the dogs on this, either being pushed by a parent or making it go herself. It is sturdy and rolls like a dream. But, it is not something she can pull herself to standing on right now unless it is pushed against the couch, etc. It rolls too easily for that. Maybe when she has more balance and is wanting to walk more it will work as a walking buddy. For now she has a blast using it as a riding toy.

6. Magnets - At least half of our magnet clips are lost because Aria loves to play with them and probably kick them underneath the refrigerator. I'm on the look out for some alphabet magnets she can play with!

7. B. Zany Zoo Activity Cube - This is such a nifty toy. After Aria got the hang of pulling herself up on it she totally dug it. She fingers the balls and slams the doors and whacks the tiles and tries to pull the turtle off. So many things to entertain. Bonus, mama has fun with it too.

  1. I was just thinking about ordering the seahorse! I think I'll pull the trigger... still stuck between the Diono Radian, the Maxi-Cosi Pria, and the Clef Foonf... HELP!

    1. The seahorse might be a nice addition to help with the crib transition - it is pretty amazing.

Umm I know nothing of the Diono. The Pria rocks, and I think I am getting better at pushing the damn red button. But, if you can swing it I would totally get the Foonf. Just seems the safest, it doesn't look hot - the Diono looks like it would be just from a quick picture perusal. Feel free to put Rory in Aria's Pria sometime - see if you like it! Is space in your SUV an issue? Basically, whatever one you pick will be awesome - so many choices that all do the same thing!

    1. Isn't it a bummer that there isn't one magical toy that all kids everywhere love? The Zany Zoo has so much potential for entertainment too, sad.

    1. I know right, I love following blogs with babies just a few months older than Aria so I can steal all their good ideas and product recs. I'm pretty sure her entire Christmas will be based off all the great blog ideas! I am trying to get a list together right now.
