These Are a Few of my Favourite Things - Stocking Stuffers
[ 1 ] No stocking is complete without Peppermint Patties.
[ 2 ] If a pair of Coach sunglasses found their way into my stocking I would be a happy camper. Small enough to fit, essential enough to be universally enjoyed.
[ 3 ] It took me a while to finally jump on board the Philosophy body wash bandwagon and I must say I ain't getting off anytime soon. This is a need, not just a want!
[ 4 ] A new DVD to add to the collection is always a hit with me, especially a chick flick or a holiday favourite.
[ 5 ] If you want to blow the stocking out of the water this Christmas go with jewelry. I love the idea of a rolling ring, but there are a gazillion much cheaper and cute as heck options too.
[ 6 ] You can't go wrong with lip balm. I go through so much lip balm, I can't leave home without it. I've been itching to try EOS lip balm too.
[ 7 ] If you want to add just a little luxury item pop in a bath bomb, how cute is the snowman? Make sure to mention it comes with an hour of babysitting, a bottle of wine, and uninterrupted reading time.
[ 8 ] And, of course, no stocking stuffer idea list would be complete without nail polish.

What would you like your stocking to be stuffed with this year???

Mommy & Me Monday

Linking up with Dear Owen and Everyday Love!

We went over to Disney World to take Christmas pictures at a couple beautiful resorts this weekend. We talked Aria's godfather into coming with us to be our photographer for the day, and he got so many great shots! Love it! I have too many to pick from for our Christmas cards now. Best problem ever.

This one is my favourite mommy and me photo from the bunch. Aria decided my hair needed some messing and went nuts playing with it.

And, a Christmas picture teaser!

Sweet Sunday

November 17th - 23rd
Our simply sweet moments this week!

We were practicing making elephant sounds until eating the tube became more appealing.

Somebody has discovered the joys of climbing. Mama is thrilled...

The Christmas boxes made an appearance this week. So far just odds and ends are up and out, and the tree is naked except for some lights. I figured I needed a head start this year. Aria has pretty much left everything alone, which surprises the heck right out of me. She loves pushing the boxes around though.

Happy as a clam after her nap. It is hard to beat a warm smooshy freshly awake baby in your arms.
There isn't any walking going on, but there are prolonged free standing episodes popping up. And, she has taken to standing up on the dogs and then falling on her butt when they move.

Aria helped me make mashed potatoes this week. She pulled potatoes out of the sack so I could chop them up.

She figured out that the doors on the glass cabinet open and hold many enticing treasures. Good thing it also has locks.

She can make one hell of a mess, but she is very willing to share paper scraps.

I tossed in a couple links and she went to down trying to get them out while the bag moved around all over the place on her.

Five on Friday: Thankful Project

Linking up with the good life blog, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello! Happiness today to bring you five things I am thankful for.
And, linking up with Chasing Happy for The Thankful Project too. Two in one deal today!

Prompt 16: Something you own
Technically I own my dogs, Baxter and Lizzy. Although, they are totally part of the family. But, I am so thankful for them. Always down for cuddles and kisses and lap sits (even though they are not lap sized dogs). They are so much fun, and lovable. Plus, Aria loves them and they are warming up to her. Lizzy lets her climb all over her back, and Baxter sneaks in kisses whenever he thinks he can get away with it. Never a dull moment in our family of 6.

Prompt 17: A room
I am thankful for my bedroom, because in my bedroom is my bed. I am thankful to have a big soft bed to sleep in every night. My husband and I started out with a twin sized bed, and it was downright unpleasant. Now we have a king sized bed, and it makes all the difference. Room to spread out is probably the key to a happy marriage.
(totally wish that was my bed though)

Prompt 19: A book
I don't think I could pick just one book to be thankful for. I am thankful for all books in general. What else offers such a beautiful escape into a different world for a few hours? You always learn something even in the bubbliest of books. Plus, a world without Harry Potter is a world I don't want to belong to.

Prompt 21: Something that's easy to take for granted
The first thing that popped into my mind for this prompt was air conditioning. I could not imagine living in Florida without this fantastic device. Even in the 'cooler' months because right now it is grossly hot and sunny out. And, when I lived in Colorado I still pumped the AC nearly year round. I just hate being hot, especially at night and I tend to run hot when I sleep. So, I am definitely thankful to have this little comfort.

Prompt 22: An expectation
I am thankful for the expectations that Aria has of me as her mother. That I will be there for her in the morning when she wakes up, and that I will give her all the hugs and kisses she can handle, and that I will feed her and take care of her basic needs, and that I will love her no matter what. It is a pretty big set of expectations to take on, but I am thankful to have it and to have her.

These Are a Few of my Favourite Things - Christmas Wish List
A camera strap [ 1 / 2 ] - I've had my new camera for a couple months or so now, and while it is awesome the camera strap is not. It is itchy and uncomfortable. So, I would love a comfortable, pretty, lovely camera strap.

A bigger purse [ 1 / 2 ] - My purse fits just the essentials, which was fine before I had a baby. Now I want a bigger purse that fits the essentials plus a few of Aria's essentials for quick trips so I don't have to always bring the diaper bag.

Gift cards to Old Navy and/or Target [ 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 ] - My wardrobe is thin. Nothing fits the way it did pre-baby - too small, too big, too boob-y. I'm bored of the few things I have and would love to get something new. And, gift cards are the way to go because I haven't figured out what sizes are comfortable again yet.

An agenda book [ 1 ] - I like to have a place to keep track of things, and I prefer that place to be tangible and require ink. Electronic calendars are nowhere near as satisfying as jotting down appointments and reminders. Especially in something as cute as this agenda book.

Festive nail polish [ 1 / 2 / 3 ] - What can I say? I love nail polish. Red is my favourite, so I would love to have an extra zazzly one for Christmas, and who doesn't love some gold glitter? Plus, I could really use a top coat.

A nook with a few good reads [ 1 / 2 / 3 ] - Getting a nook tablet would be sa-weet. I love to read, and I think I would get a lot of use out of one. And, the library never has a copy of City of Lost Souls available and Kinsella never disappoints - both perfect holiday reads!

Aria's First Birthday Wish List

[ 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 ]

In less than two weeks Aria will be a whole year old. 12 months. Dude. She is really becoming this little person with opinions and wants and needs. She understands things that you tell her, which just blows my mind constantly. So, yes, her birthday is coming up. And, I put together a wish list for her based off of many many recommendations online and what I think she will enjoy. Because, who ever knows what to get for a kid? There are so many toys out there. I thought I would provide a little guidance for family/friends that wanted to get her something. I also hear she enjoys Coach purses, and nail polish...

What do you think? What did your littles love around the one year mark?

Sweet S...Monday

November 10th - 16th
A day late and a dollar short...

We had a lot of pleasant weather this week, so we spent many moments out on the back porch.

There were moments playing with the dog chain.

 Moments investigating leaves.

And, moments of yoga and contemplation.

Aria became quite proficient at reading upside down.
If you ask her where the cat is on the last page of 'Five Little Pumpkins' she will point to the cat too, which makes mama oh so proud.

Aria has decided that she likes to share. Baxter was very interested until he found out it wasn't a real apple.
She even fed me a roll last night at a a tree her godfather's.

I let Aria fall asleep while nursing and snuggle in my lap for an extra 20 or so minutes two, three times this week. I was feeling like time was slipping away so quickly; she barely fits on my lap anymore and I've been working on her 1st birthday party details too. So, instead of laying her down and kissing her good night, we cuddled up and savored a few minutes of her still being a baby, while we still can. It was the cherry on my week.
